DANIELLA​

Daniella was someone I saw dancing near the front of the stage at the Fells Point Festival. I was out with a buddy taking in the sounds and sights and snapping some photos. A week or so later, I saw her again at Bike Party. She has such a stunning look that is was easy to remember her. I approached her at the end of the bike ride and mentioned I had taken some photos of her at the festival. We exchanged socials and I shared the images.

When I started the TATT2U series, I began with approaching folks I knew who had tattoos and who I thought would be open to posing. And then I decided I should try to find someone I didn’t know to help me expand the project and push myself outside my comfort zone. I messaged Daniella asking if she had any tattoos and if she’d be up for modeling for the series. She mentioned she only had one, but that she was game.

I went to her house with camera and lights and she showed me around her place. When we went downstairs I saw the white rug and knew that was the spot. She shared about some of her interests and I learned that she has 3 tarantulas. Well, that was unexpected...so I asked if we can include them. She picked the one that she thought would be most amenable. There was a point where I had to peel the tarantula’s legs from the pink sticky gloves Daniella wore to transfer it from the tank to her shoulder. I’m not gonna lie, I was extremely nervous. Lastly, I noticed her cannabis plants under the grow lights under the stairs...and requested moving one of them into the frame.
