KIKE​

First off, Kike (Quique) is a nickname for Enrique who is from Colombia. He is a tremendously talented tattoo artist who owns Brightside Tattoo Shop in Federal Hill. He and I met through the dog park where his dog Miklo and mine (Gracie) became friends. The two dogs joined us for my left calf tatt that Kike inked on me of Gracie with a shadow image of my previous pooch, Sandy.

Kike was an obvious choice for me to photograph for this series. He was down for it. But we decided to change it up and shoot at his home art studio instead of at the shop. This is where he draws and paints using a Japanese style he has crafted over many years. One of the more unique spots to get a tattoo is on top of the head...so grabbing a ladder and stalking him from above I was able to capture one of my favorite shots in the series.
